Shore Competition – SC Heavy Versatile Multi-Taper
Designed to dominate the increasingly tough modern fishing fields, the 24 KING VIPER is a heavy versatile model in the Shore Competition (SC) series, refined and upgraded while maintaining the advantages of its predecessor.
While the previous 18 KING VIPER could handle bigbaits up to 3.5oz, the 24 KING VIPER adjusts the suitable lure weight downward to a maximum of 3oz to better match today’s challenging conditions. The focus is on improving performance for the most frequently used lures, including jigs and worms up to 3/8oz and 2oz-class bigbaits. Additionally, its capability to handle heavy spinners and fast-moving lures like magnum crankbaits has been significantly enhanced.
The 18 KING VIPER was praised as a “stiff rod with uniform taper that bends smoothly,” featuring a strong tip and a parabolic slow-tapered butt. The 24 KING VIPER introduces a tip that is even more delicate, offering fine control over these lures. The tip uses a regular taper with a slight “V” shape (adopted from the 22 FIRE WOLF) to provide sensitivity and precise control, while the butt retains the slow-tapered parabolic bend of the 18 KING VIPER to ensure stability during casts of any weight. These opposing characteristics are harmonized into a single multi-taper design.
By combining castability, the resilience of a full bend, high sensitivity, precise control, and instant hooking response, the 24 KING VIPER has been reborn as a heavy versatile rod capable of conquering today’s toughest fishing conditions.
