Chinu Competition Special IV Series Rod

The Gamakatsu Chinu Competition Special IV Series is a high-end Japanese ISO rod developed specifically for advanced black porgy and technical Chinu fishing competitions. Designed to maximize sensitivity, float control, hook-setting speed, and lightweight maneuverability, this series represents one of the most refined competition-focused Chinu rods in the Gamakatsu lineup.

The defining concept behind the Chinu Competition Special IV is achieving ultra-fast operational response while preserving the smooth flexibility required for fighting cautious and powerful fish in shallow rocky coastal environments. Every section of the rod has been carefully engineered to provide precise line control and highly responsive rod movement during delicate float presentations.

The blank utilizes advanced TORAYCA M40X high elasticity carbon material together with TORAYCA T1100G high strength carbon. This combination creates an ideal balance between lightweight sensitivity, fast recovery speed, and powerful lifting strength. The rod feels extremely crisp during casting and float manipulation while maintaining smooth bending characteristics under load.

The rod is equipped with a newly designed short solid tip structure optimized specifically for Chinu fishing. Compared to conventional long solid tips, the shorter design improves hook-setting speed and significantly enhances operational accuracy while maintaining excellent bite detection capability.

When targeting black porgy around breakwaters, rocky shorelines, and coastal structures, the rod transmits even subtle line tension changes and delicate float movement directly to the angler. This allows faster reaction timing during technical competition situations where sensitivity is critical.

To improve structural rigidity without sacrificing lightweight balance, Gamakatsu incorporated the PCS Power Cross System reinforcement technology. This multidirectional carbon reinforcement suppresses blank twisting during casting and fish fighting, improving stability, precision, and lifting control under heavy pressure.

The Chinu Competition Special IV also features an extremely slim blank profile with carefully controlled wall thickness. This structure improves maneuverability and reduces fatigue during long tournament sessions while preserving strong butt power for lifting large fish away from coastal obstacles.

The rod bends progressively and naturally throughout the blank during fish fights, helping protect fine leaders and lightweight hook setups commonly used in technical Chinu fishing. The smooth transition between sections creates stable pressure distribution and reduces sudden stress concentration.

High-quality titanium frame guides with SiC rings improve line release and casting smoothness while reducing unnecessary front-end weight. The lightweight guide system contributes to improved balance and faster rod response during repeated casting.

The ergonomic screw-lock reel seat provides excellent grip stability and secure reel fixation under wet saltwater conditions. Combined with the lightweight carbon construction, the rod offers excellent overall balance and handling comfort.

The Chinu Competition Special IV Series is ideal for competitive black porgy anglers seeking maximum sensitivity, precision float control, rapid hook-setting performance, and refined fish fighting capability.

Built with elite Japanese craftsmanship and advanced carbon engineering, this rod delivers professional tournament-level Chinu fishing performance with exceptional control, sensitivity, and reliability.
