MASTER MODEL II Series Rod
The Gamakatsu MASTER MODEL II Series represents one of the most technically refined ISO fishing rods ever developed in the history of the Gamaiso lineup. Created for anglers who demand extreme flexibility, smooth power transfer, and advanced fish control, this series focuses on achieving the ultimate “body action” concept while maintaining precision and responsiveness during high level rocky shore fishing.
The defining characteristic of the MASTER MODEL II is its exceptionally slim and flexible blank construction. Unlike conventional ISO rods that rely heavily on stiffness, this rod bends deeply throughout the entire body section under heavy load, creating a unique whip-like action capable of absorbing aggressive fish surges with remarkable smoothness.
The tip and second section are intentionally designed with slightly firmer characteristics for accurate float control and stable operation under lighter loads. From the third section down to the butt section, the rod transitions into an ultra slim and highly flexible structure that distributes pressure evenly across the blank during intense fights with large fish.
When fighting powerful blacktail, sea bream, or other aggressive rocky shore species, the rod flexes deeply while maintaining stable lifting control. This unique action maximizes line performance and reduces sudden stress concentration on light leaders and delicate hook setups.
The blank is constructed using advanced TORAYCA T1100G high performance carbon material developed for aerospace level strength and elasticity. This material allows the rod to achieve an extremely slim profile without sacrificing durability or recovery speed. Compared to traditional body-action rods, the MASTER MODEL II feels significantly more responsive and easier to control during repeated casting and technical float manipulation.
To overcome the twisting weakness commonly associated with ultra slim blanks, Gamakatsu incorporated the PCS (Power Cross System) reinforcement structure. This multidirectional carbon reinforcement suppresses blank twisting during casting and fish fights, improving stability, power transmission, and overall rod precision under heavy load.
Even during powerful runs from large fish, the rod maintains smooth stability without excessive vibration or loss of control. The flexible body absorbs sudden impact naturally while maintaining excellent lifting force from the butt section.
The MASTER MODEL II Series also features IM guide technology with titanium frame SiC guides designed to reduce line tangling and improve line flow during casting. The inclined guide design helps minimize line wrapping around the rod under windy coastal conditions.
A non-stick surface finish from the second section to the upper butt area reduces line adhesion caused by seawater and improves long distance casting control. This surface treatment also improves handling performance during wet weather conditions.
The screw-type reel seat system securely locks the reel in place while the rubber coated hood and grip sections improve comfort and anti-slip performance during extended fishing sessions. The rod also includes interchangeable balance weight butt caps allowing anglers to fine tune balance according to fishing style and reel setup.
The MASTER MODEL II Series is ideal for technical ISO anglers targeting blacktail, sea bream, and large coastal species where flexibility, precision, and advanced fish control are critical. Its deep bending action creates a unique fighting experience that combines smooth pressure absorption with surprising lifting strength.
Built with elite Japanese craftsmanship and cutting-edge carbon engineering, this rod delivers tournament level ISO fishing performance with exceptional sensitivity, flexibility, and long term reliability.
