METALCAST Series Rod
The Gamakatsu METALCAST Series is a high-performance Japanese telescopic shore jigging rod engineered specifically for anglers targeting powerful saltwater predators from rocky shorelines, breakwaters, and coastal structures. Combining long-distance casting ability, lightweight handling, and exceptional lifting power, this series was designed to deliver professional-level shore jigging performance in a highly portable telescopic format.
Unlike many conventional telescopic rods that sacrifice sensitivity and blank responsiveness, the METALCAST Series features an advanced high-strength carbon blank structure that maintains impressive rigidity, recovery speed, and fighting power. The rod delivers a crisp and stable action that closely resembles the performance of premium two-piece shore jigging rods while retaining the convenience of compact storage.
The blank incorporates advanced carbon materials including high-elasticity reinforcement technology to achieve both strength and lightweight balance. Selected sections utilize premium carbon construction designed to improve resilience, torsional stability, and shock absorption during aggressive fish fights and repeated heavy jig casting.
The METALCAST Series was developed specifically for modern Japanese shore jigging techniques where anglers require long casting distance, rapid lure control, and immediate hook-setting power. Its responsive action allows metal jigs to maintain stable swimming motion while enabling sharp rod manipulation for aggressive lure presentation.
The 110MH model is configured with a regular-fast action optimized for excellent casting distance and versatile jig operation. This model performs exceptionally well with medium-weight metal jigs and is highly effective for large seabass, yellowtail, and medium-class offshore predators.
The 110H model increases overall lifting strength and casting power, supporting jig weights up to approximately 100g. It is designed for anglers targeting larger bluewater species in stronger current environments while maintaining excellent casting stability and lure control.
For extreme heavy-duty shore jigging applications, the 110XH model is built to handle heavy metal jigs around 110g and beyond. Despite its tremendous power rating, the rod maintains surprisingly lightweight handling characteristics rarely found in telescopic rods of this category. It is highly suitable for deep-water jigging zones, fast current areas, and giant migratory fish.
The blank structure is carefully tuned to suppress twisting and excessive vibration during casting. This improves casting precision, increases energy transfer efficiency, and enhances lure control under demanding fishing conditions.
High-quality SiC guide rings provide smooth line release and excellent durability against braided line friction. The guide system also improves casting efficiency and reduces unnecessary resistance during long-distance shore casting.
The long rear grip is specifically designed to improve leverage and casting comfort when repeatedly casting heavy metal jigs. Its ergonomic configuration provides stable two-hand casting support while improving control during high-pressure fish fights.
One of the major advantages of the METALCAST Series is its telescopic portability. The compact collapsed length allows the rod to fit inside many standard ISO rod cases, making transportation and storage significantly easier for traveling anglers and shore fishermen.
The METALCAST Series is ideal for targeting yellowtail, amberjack, seabass, tuna-class coastal predators, and other aggressive saltwater species using modern shore jigging techniques.
Built with advanced Japanese engineering and premium carbon technology, the Gamakatsu METALCAST Series delivers exceptional shore jigging power, lightweight balance, long-distance casting capability, and outstanding durability for serious saltwater anglers.
