The blank is designed to bend smoothly throughout while retaining a slightly firmer tip. When loaded, its resilience and power help lift the jig with an automatic-like response and create attractive falling actions.

Increased blank strength also provides greater confidence when fighting fish under deep load. Spiral X forms the fundamental blank structure to resist twisting and crushing, while Hi-Power X further suppresses torsion and helps the blank maintain its intended direction during operation and fighting.

A CI4+ Full Holding Seat provides a secure, comfortable fit for multiple gripping styles and combines lightweight construction with high sensitivity. The separate grip supports accurate jerking and sustained performance during long sessions, while the grip-joint two-piece construction is used throughout the lineup.

Six power levels from B66-1 through B66-6 systematically cover applications ranging from nearshore slow jigging to deep-water and expedition fishing for large targets. B66-1 supports PE up to 1.

Shimano Grappler Type Slow J is a dedicated slow-jigging rod series refined around three key elements: jerk performance, response, and strength.
