The blanks are sharper and more responsive than before, improving casting, hook-setting and lure control. CI4+

CI4+ is an advanced version of Shimano’s carbon-fiber-reinforced CI4 material. It is lighter and stronger than conventional resin.

Spiral X Core

Spiral X Core uses Shimano’s proprietary design and manufacturing methods to increase strength against bending, twisting and compression. It builds on the Spiral X structure with high-strength resin carbon tape made using Nanoalloy® technology. Compared with a conventional blank structure, it delivers 1.4 times greater torsional strength and 2.5 times greater crush strength. Compared with Spiral X, torsional strength is increased by 10% and crush strength by 15% (Shimano internal comparisons). Nanoalloy® is a registered trademark of Toray Industries, Inc.

Hi-Power X

Hi-Power X further suppresses blank twist during casting and fighting. Carbon tape is wrapped in an X pattern around the outermost layer of Spiral X or over a cross-laid carbon-sheet structure, helping the rod bend in the direction intended by the angler and allowing the blank to perform to its full potential.

Hi-Power X reduce aún más la torsión del blank durante el lance y el combate. Screw Lock Joint

A specially machined joint that combines secure engagement with easy separation. Twisting the sections together tightens the joint like a screw and helps prevent loosening; twisting in the opposite direction releases it smoothly. Used on saltwater rods.

Grand Stinger 108, the core model of the previous generation, has been refined with a sharper blank and a full X Guide layout for improved casting feel. Designed for rocky shores, surf, large rivers and elevated positions, it balances crisp response with deep resilience. It handles overhead, underhand and side casts with accuracy—even where a rock wall limits the backcast—and clearly transmits lure movement and strikes through wind, waves and heavy current. Under load, the powerful butt bends progressively, tracking the fish’s movement and helping the angler maintain control throughout the fight.

Fast power supports immediate hooksets and decisive control after the strike. The purpose-designed full X Guide configuration allows the blank to load smoothly despite its crisp character, improving both casting feel and stability under load. Its broad capability extends from large blackfin seabass to pelagic species.

Wild Contact 112MH+ is a three-piece model for committed anglers travelling to rugged shorelines. Its compact transport length is only one advantage: the three-section construction also enables a deliberate distribution of materials and power. A responsive first section controls the lure, the middle section supplies resilience and the butt section lifts the fish. It handles blackfin seabass, trophy seabass and pelagic species with stable authority. Full X Guides support trouble-free casting, while the blank has the power to send 60 g-class lures long distances and the sensitivity to control 10 g-class minnows through turbulent white water.

The S112MH+/R-3 uses a distinctive three-piece power distribution to preserve the characteristic Wild Contact action. Its butt section (#3) is intentionally firm, while the middle (#2) and tip (#1) sections are softer than those of the S110H/R-3, producing a more progressive and forgiving feel in use.
