Gamafune Karei Gensui Series Rod
The Gamafune Karei Gensui series is a highly specialized offshore rod designed for aggressive and precision-focused flatfish (karei / flounder) fishing. It is engineered for anglers who actively “attack and hook” fish rather than passively waiting, making it a true performance rod for technical bottom fishing.
Built with Gamakatsu’s advanced Japanese rod engineering, this model features a high-carbon ultra-light blank structure (C99.9% + G0.1%) that delivers outstanding sensitivity and direct bottom feedback. Anglers can clearly feel seabed structure, bait movement, and even the slightest fish contact.
A defining feature of the Karei Gensui series is its high-sensitivity “Super Top” solid tip. This ultra-fine carbon solid tip transmits even the smallest bites instantly, allowing precise detection in deep water and low-activity fish conditions.
The rod adopts an aggressive “kotsuki action” design, optimized for actively shaking, probing, and setting the hook. This makes it ideal for Eastern Japan flatfish fishing styles where anglers continuously manipulate the bait.
The blank is tuned for high responsiveness, allowing instant power transfer during hook sets while maintaining sensitivity in the tip section.
Despite its sensitivity-focused design, the rod features a strong butt section capable of handling large flatfish and providing reliable lifting power from deep water.
The rod is optimized for cold-water flatfish environments such as the Tohoku region, where bottom structure reading and precise bait control are critical.
The lightweight guide system improves line flow and reduces resistance during vertical fishing, enhancing contact sensitivity with the seabed.
The ergonomic reel seat ensures stable grip and reduces fatigue during long offshore fishing sessions.
The Gamafune Karei Gensui series is ideal for anglers seeking an aggressive, high-sensitivity, and technically advanced rod specifically designed for modern flatfish boat fishing.
