KOHGA X is Daiwa’s “easy-to-catch” entry series for tai rubber, built to deliver dependable performance from your first drop to your first trophy. Every model shares a practical 6.9 ft length for balanced control, a travel-friendly center-cut 2-piece build, and a lightweight original reel seat that fits a wide range of palming styles. The blanks use BRAIDING X on the butt section to suppress twist, so the lure tracks cleanly, hooksets feel direct, and power transfers efficiently when a big red or surprise pelagic shows up. A carbon-solid tip section is tuned to keep the head from over-dancing and to absorb tentative bites, while the butt retains authority to turn heavy fish. Baitcasting models feature a spiral guide layout with stainless K-guides to reduce line wrap and keep pressure in line with the blank; all items use a 5 mm top guide (5 mm or larger through the train) to mitigate debris or jellyfish seasons and keep line flow smooth.

The lineup covers the core scenarios most anglers face on charter boats and private craft. 69MB-S is the lightest “load and reel” choice for shallow water and heads up to roughly 120 g, delivering natural retrieves and easy bite absorption. 69MHB-S is the standard all-around baitcasting model for 40–150 g that works across seasons, drifts, and typical depths. 69HB-S adds reserve power for deeper lines, fast currents, and heads to about 200 g, including controlled doterra drifts. 69XHB-S is the power specialist for truly heavy heads to about 300 g and for straight fights with big snapper and incidental amberjack class fish. For horizontal searching, 69MHS-S is the spinning option designed to cast up to about 65 g, excel at cast-and-diagonal retrieves, and trigger bites when vertical tactics stall. Standard weights and lines are practical: bait models span about 30–300 g across the range with PE 0.5–1.5 depending on power, while the spinning model pairs well with PE 0.6–1.2 and 20–65 g heads. Finished in signature Kohga pink with high-luster cosmetics, KOHGA X looks sharp on deck and fishes even better—stable touch-and-go bottom sensing, forgiving bite loading, and enough backbone to land your fish of the day.
