LEADING MEBARU Rod Series
The LEADING MEBARU series by Daiwa is a premium high sensitivity boat rod developed specifically for Japanese offshore black rockfish and mebaru fishing, combining delicate bite detection, natural bait presentation, and smooth multi-hook fighting performance.
Designed around Daiwa’s traditional mebaru rod action refined through years of offshore testing, the series delivers the ideal balance of flexibility and responsiveness required to naturally present rigs and encourage continuous “oi-gui” follow-up bites from schooling fish.
The rod incorporates Daiwa’s advanced AGS carbon guide system, significantly reducing front-end weight while improving vibration transmission and overall sensitivity for sharper bite recognition and lighter handling feel.
Its ultra sensitive MEGA TOP carbon solid tip features uniform fiber and resin distribution, achieving exceptional flexibility, strength, and visual bite sensitivity while maintaining excellent durability against repeated offshore use.
The soft responsive tip section allows anglers to detect subtle pressure bites without creating unnatural resistance, helping fish fully commit before hook setting and increasing hook-up consistency.
Once hooked, the rod smoothly bends deep into the midsection and butt section, naturally maintaining tension while reducing hook pull-outs and encouraging additional fish to continue striking the rig.
Daiwa’s X45 carbon reinforcement structure suppresses blank twisting during rod work, hook setting, and fighting pressure, greatly improving control precision, power transfer efficiency, and overall rod stability.
The V-JOINT construction creates a seamless one-piece-like bending curve while improving recovery speed and lifting power throughout the blank.
The AIR SENSOR SEAT reel seat utilizes lightweight carbon reinforced resin construction to maximize sensitivity, rigidity, comfort, and lightweight balance during extended offshore fishing sessions.
Available in multiple lengths and actions including SS, S, and M power models, the series supports various sinker weights and fishing depths, allowing anglers to adapt to regional mebaru fishing conditions throughout Japan.
Combining traditional Daiwa mebaru rod action with modern high sensitivity technologies, the LEADING MEBARU series represents a refined modern standard for Japanese offshore black rockfish boat fishing.
